In another report, Farah Dagogo, a former member of the House of Representatives and a governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State for the 2023 elections, has opened up about the hardships he faced during his trial. In a recent interview with Punch, Dagogo disclosed that he was once brought to court while unconscious.
This revelation comes amid reflections on the intense political atmosphere in Rivers State. Naija News recalls that Nyesom Wike, the then- governor of Rivers State and now the FCT minister, had declared Dagogo wanted. Wike accused Dagogo of being behind a suspected cultist disturbance at the Port Harcourt secretariat of the Rivers PDP.
Dagogo’ s arrest followed shortly after this declaration. He was apprehended at the South- South Zonal Secretariat of the PDP while attending a screening for the party primaries. Despite the gravity of the charges, Dagogo maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal.
After a lengthy legal battle, Dagogo was eventually discharged and acquitted of all criminal charges. The court found no diligent prosecution, leading to his release.
