Due to their shared Yoruba ancestry, Hashim Dungurawa, the chairman of the ruling New Nigeria People’ s Party (NNPP) in Kano State, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is seeking to destabilize the state by attempting to impose Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, on the Emirate.
When speaking to reporters in Kano on Sunday about the accomplishments of the NNPP- led government in the state over the previous year, he made this statement. According to Dungurawa, it is against the state government’ s interest for the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS, and other security agencies to provide Emir Bayero with special protection.
He issued a warning, saying that in 2027, President Tinubu will suffer the consequences of his purported intervention in the Kano Emirate dispute.
” Your perceived stance on the ongoing Kano Emirate Tussle would surely work against you in 2027 because if you think you can use it to gain ground in Kano when the chips are down you will realise your mistakes.
” If the President thinks he will use a few of his kinsmen in Kano and the alleged Bayero’ s Yoruba lineage to continue to keep the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero in the State, let him wait for 2027, we will show him that those people will not help him, ” Dungurawa warned.
The President was then urged to use reason and take all necessary steps to ensure that the deposed Emir was removed from Kano, so ending the Kano Emirate fiasco.
With an assurance that Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will be the next president of Nigeria, the NNPP State chairman clarified that his party will continue to field the national leader of the party as its presidential candidate in the 2027 election cycle.
APC national chairman and the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, was not elected to a second term in office, according to Dungurawa, who also demanded a review of the results of the 2019 election.
