In Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria, two people have been killed and nine others abducted in a series of attacks by suspected terrorists. These attacks took place in various communities within the Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government Area.
A resident of the area reported to AIT News via telephone that the first attack occurred in the Yargaladima community. Here, the terrorists killed one person and kidnapped another. They then moved on to the Maigoge community, where they repeated their actions, killing one person and abducting another.
In the Dansadau community itself, the terrorists continued their assault by abducting six people from their farmlands. They searched the area for food, ransacked homes, and caused panic among the residents. On Friday, the terrorists returned to Dansadau and kidnapped one more person from his farm.
The residents believe that these repeated attacks are due to their refusal to negotiate with the terrorists. They align themselves with the Zamfara State Government’ s policy of not negotiating with criminals. This stance has angered the terrorists, leading to more attacks on the communities within the Dansadau Emirate.
In the past, the government tried to negotiate peace with the terrorists, but these efforts did not bring positive results. Now, the people want the government to send more troops with advanced weapons to fight the terrorists and remove them from Zamfara State.
Some sources say that the people of Magami have started negotiating with the terrorists. This is why Dogo Gide decided to move to their community— to protect them from other terrorist groups.
The situation in Dansadau Emirate and the surrounding areas remains tense and dangerous. The local communities are calling for stronger government intervention and more military support to combat the ongoing threat from terrorists. Without a clear solution, the cycle of violence and fear continues to disrupt the lives of many people in Zamfara State.
