FG appoints six state governors
The Federal Government through the National Economic Council (NEC) has approved the appointment of six state governors to serve as members of the Board of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.
The governors, who hail from Borno, Katsina, Imo, Ekiti, Kwara, and Akwa Ibom States, represent the six geopolitical zones.
Furthermore, updates on the country’s financial status were provided by Mr. Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
He reported that the Excess Crude Account holds $473,754.57, the Stabilization Account has ₦28,738,722,369.83, and the Natural Resources fund contains ₦53,891,102,650.71.
President Tinubu also an approved an uplift grant under the National Construction and Household Support Programme for 3.6m Nigerian families.
This initiative will deliver N50,000 to 100,000 families in each state for three months.
The disbursement of the Tinubu uplift grant to families will occur over a three-month period, according to presidential spokesman Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
