Kenneth Okonkwo, the former spokesperson for the Labour Party’ s Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council, has declared that it is time for security agencies to intervene and arrest Mr. Julius Abure and his ” so- called National Executive Committee members, ” asserting that their terms have long since expired.
Okonkwo, a lawyer, expressed his views in an interview with SYMFONI, available on YouTube on Thursday. He dismissed the alleged convention held by Abure and his associates in Nnewi, Anambra State, as invalid because it did not adhere to legal procedures.
He labeled them as a group of criminals and criticized the party’ s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, for visiting the party’ s Secretariat, implying that Obi’ s visit signaled his approval of their actions and the resulting chaos.
Expressing his dismay at the party’ s deteriorating condition, the renowned actor noted that even as the party’ s former spokesperson at the presidential level, he was unaware of the supposed convention until he saw a leaked letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on social media.
He questioned why Abure and his associates decided to organize a clandestine meeting and label it a party convention, excluding the public and the media, yet still reinstated themselves as the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Labour Party. Continue…..
