ALERT!! Yorubas Do Not Hate Igbos- Peter Obi Declares, Cites 2023 Election As Confirmation; See SURPRISING Detail
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’ s (LP) presidential candidate, claimed that the general elections of 2023 demonstrated that Yorubas are not anti- Igbo. The Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy (NACJD) presented Obi with the 2024 Courageous Citizen Award in Abuja on Saturday.
There was no Igbo or Christian agenda for the election, according to the former governor of Anambra State. Across tribal and religious divides, Nigerians came together to support the 2023 general election, he added, correcting the poll’s false claim that Yorubas despise Igbos.
The dramatic improvement, according to Obi, showed that Nigerians wanted to see a shift from the current situation.” It was a time that Nigerians united and spoke with one voice regardless of tribe, tongue or religion. The 2023 election wasn’t a Christian or Igbo project.
“It was a Nigerian project. I saw our legends and elder statesmen come together for the first time. I was glad to see people like former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Pa Ayo Adebanjo and others stand their ground.
“I am saying this to correct the impression that the Yorubas hate Igbo people. A lot of people made certain sacrifices because we just wanted to say’ Enough is enough’ in Nigeria. Imagine those who had lost their lives for the cause of a new Nigeria, ” he said
Recall that Obi finished third in the 2023 presidential race, following only the victor, President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his opponent, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). However, many young Nigerians adopted Obi’ s philosophy before the election and cast large numbers of ballots in his favor. Recall that Peter Obi got more votes in Yoruba land than Tinubu got in the South East. This may be becausee of huge number of Igbos settlers in Southwest.
