Tragedy struck in Uyo metropolis, Akwa Ibom, as a 25-year-old man, identified as Elisha, allegedly killed his girlfriend and cut her body into pieces. in a residential compound near Beaulah International Nursery and Primary Schools along Atiku Abubakar Way.
The incident, which occurred at around 7 am, sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents in a state of utter disbelief and grief.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect and the victim, a nurse, were heard struggling and beating each other before the suspect committed the heinous act. An aged woman in the compound attempted to intervene, advising the suspect to stop the beating, but he refused, leading to a call to the victim’s father, who lived away from the area, to come and control the situation..
Upon arriving at the compound, the father found the door jammed against him, and the suspect had already killed the girl and cut her into pieces. The suspect then hid in the ceiling of the room, where the police later found and arrested him.

Command has commenced an investigation into the alleged murder, with the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, confirming the incident and stating that the suspect has been arrested and the command is working to unravel the matter in the next few days.
