BOMBSHELL: Jonathan’s Wife And I Worked To Make Wike Governor Of Rivers But… Secondus
A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has attributed the lingering political crisis rocking Rivers State to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike’s pursuit of selfish interest.
Secondus, who spoke to journalists in
Abuja on Saturday, said Wike was the brain behind Governor Siminalayi Fubura’s political troubles.
He alleged that Wike brought misery, grief, and anguish into the State, stressing that the FCT Minister has failed to attract any federal project to
Rivers.
According to Secondus, Fubara fell out with his estranged godfather when he (Fubara) decided to prevent the
looting of the State.
He explained that the political crisis
currently rocking Rivers was orchestrated by those who demand unfettered access to the state’s finances, a demand he said Fubara refused to accept. Secondus said, “Wike has been Governor for eight years and is now Minister of the FCT.
“As Minister, what has he, Wike, attracted in terms of federal projects to our dear State since he assumed office? “Perhaps misery, grief, and anguish.
As governor he supervised the exit of investors from the state due to his draconian policies.
“He had on an occasion mentioned
that he is capable of causing a crisis and he is not far from the truth, as he is causing an unfathomable crisis in Rivers State.
“Mrs Patience Jonathan and I worked
for his emergence as governor, have
we ever breathed down his neck? Instead, what we get is disrespect and insults.
“I call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to prevail on the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike to stop overheating the Rivers State political atmosphere and allow Fubara to work. Whatever Wike thinks he is, it must be stressed that Rivers people made him.”
In an earlier report, Wike shared some fresh details about the political crisis rocking the state. Wike
claimed that he made a mistake, further begging God and the people of the State for forgiveness.
Speaking on Saturday at the grand civic reception held at Ogu-Bolo in honour of Chief George Thompson. Sekibo’s 20 years of public service, Wike begged for God’s forgiveness as well as the people’s forgiveness for making an error in judgment.
Wike further vowed to correct his mistake at the right time. Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara Rivers State have been engaging in a face-off that has polarised the state House of Assembly into two camps.
The minister backed Fubara to succeed him as the governor of the oil-rich state.
