Police have apprehended an Islamic cleric, a community chief, and eight other individuals suspected of engaging in ritualistic activities in Lagos.
The arrests were made following reports of their involvement in the gruesome trade of human body parts, which they allegedly sold to practitioners of occult rituals.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, the leader of the group, identified as Ademola
Akinlosotu, 33, was responsible for the macabre practice of exhuming corpses from cemeteries and selling.

“Among those arrested were an ifa priest, an Osun priestess, an Islamic cleric, and a traditional medicine practitioner.
Hundeyin revealed that the suspects were apprehended based on intelligence gathered from concerned members of the public.
The police spokesperson further disclosed that the suspects would lure unsuspecting victims to their hideout, from which they would never emerge
alive.
Upon their arrest, various human body parts were recovered from the suspects, serving as evidence of their heinous activities.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing, with the police actively pursuing other individuals suspected of involvement in the illicit trade..
Once the investigation is concluded, the suspects will be brought before the court to face charges. During the parade of the suspects,
Ademola Akinlosotu made chilling confessions, detailing his involvernent in the trade of human body parts.
He admitted to initially obtaining body parts from graves but later resorted to killing individuals to meet the demand for fresh body parts from his clients.
Akinlosotu revealed that he collaborated with a 52-year-old man known as Ahmed Wahab, also known as Alfa Bororo, to supply body parts to clients in Badagry, Lagos, and Ogun states.
He disclosed the prices at which different body parts were sold, ranging from N30, 000 to N70, 000.
Furthermore, Akinlosotu confessed to his direct involvement in the murder of two individuals, including a friend he met through social media. He claimed that prior to each killing, a traditional herbalist would be consulted to ascertain the success and potential repercussions of the act.
The suspect alleged that a traditional ruler in Badagry had requested him to eliminate his troublesome son, a task
that coincided with the visit of the friend he later murdered. Akinlosotu emphasized that he targeted specific body parts, including the head, heart, and hands, for his ritualistic purposes.
