SHOCKING Reason Wike, Fubara Are Fighting Each Other In Rivers – Dele Momodu Alleges
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has alleged that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, are fighting over control of Rivers State’s treasury.
Wike and Fubara have been in a long- running political tussle since the latter assumed office as Governor on May 29, 2023.
The squabble also affected the State House of Assembly, Local Government Chairmen, and some state Commissioners loyal to both parties.
President Bola Tinubu intervened in the crisis in December 2023 and prevailed on both factions to sign a peace pact. Despite the peace accord, both parties and their loyalist have continued the cold war. Speaking in an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Thursday night, Momodu noted that Rivers State plays an essential role in Nigeria’s election.
According to him, Wike and Fubara are fighting because of politics and the structure of having direct access to the Rivers State treasury. He said, “They are not fighting in Rivers because of politics only. They also need the money in Rivers.
“Tinubu has Wike in Rivers. They want
him also to get hold of the state to not
only give them votes, but a structure
of money, structure of having direct
access to the treasury. Rivers State
plays an important role in election in Nigeria.[sic]” In other news, musician and social critic, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has raised an alarm over an alleged attempt to arrest the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, by the President Bola Tinubu-led government.
According to Charly Boy, the purported
arrest is linked to Obi’s consistent criticism of Tinubu and his administration’s governance and accountability In a post on X, Charly Boy warned against any arrest or charges brought against the former Governor of Anambra, warning that such actions would be met with unprecedented resistance. His words: ‘There’s a report of an attempt of arrest on Peter Obi, by Tinubu’s Government over Peter Obi’s consistent refusal to back down on
calling Tinubu out towards good
governance and accountability.
Any arrest or charges against Obi must be met with a resistance as never seen in the history of Nigeria before, and the Obidients are ready for it.
“Tinubu’s government must trend with
caution not to set this nation on fire
with an illegal arrest of HE Peter Obi. “We call on Tinubu’s government to desist from her evil plans against Peter Obi because Nigeria will not remain the same.”
