A male in his mid-30s, commonly recognized as Baale or Radical, purportedly took his own life after receiving an eviction notice from his residence due to failure to pay his yearly rent of N35, 000, which escalated to N60, 000.
Reports indicate that Baale, residing in a solitary room on Moshalashi Road, Egan, in the Igando locality of Lagos State, passed away on Sunday night after consuming a toxic substance believed to be an insect repellent.
The departed left behind his wife and four children.
An undisclosed source revealed that the deceased allegedly informed his spouse of an imminent tragedy due to his incapacity to cover their accommodation rent.
“He engaged in a dispute with his wife after the landlord served him an eviction notice for his inability to meet the escalated rent of N60, 000 for their one-room dwelling.
“The initial rent was N35, 000, and he struggled to fulfill it. This prompted him to inform his wife about the likelihood of his demise owing to mounting pressure.
“He returned from Iba yesterday, where he was socializing with friends, only to contact a young man (identity withheld) indicating his intention to end his life with the insect repellent he possessed. The young man promptly alerted his wife, dissuading him from his intention, and together, they sought assistance.
“However, by the time they arrived at his location, he had already ingested the substance. Despite administering antidotes to stabilize him, he was rushed to the hospital for further treatment.
“They boarded a bus, and upon reaching the hospital at 11 pm, he was pronounced dead, the source disclosed.
In a related event, The residents of the Igoba area of Akure, the capital city of Ondo State have been left in great shock after a woman known as Mrs. Odunayo Bose allegedly killed herself because of what her husband’s girlfriend said to her.
Based on the report gathered by the newsmen, on the day of the incident, the alleged girlfriend of the deceased husband reached out to the late Bose on the phone and began to threaten her and also told her she was pregnant for her husband. Shortly after the call, Bose drank herbicide leading to her untimely death.
It was gathered that the family members of the mother of four
brought her dead body to the apartment of her husband from Akoko for burial. They performed necessary
rituals and later buried her.
While speaking with the newsmen, a source from the family revealed that
late Bose consumed the poisonous substance in her apartment located around the Igoba area of Akure then rushed to her hometown, Ifira Akoko, and notified her parents that the womanizing of her husband will later caused her untimely death.
