In a recent interview on Channels Television’ s Politics Today, Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 election, voiced his concern over the political aspirations of Nigerian youths.
Sowore’ s comments came in the wake of the swearing- in of 44- year- old Bassirou Diomaye Faye as the Senegalese president, which drew attention to the potential of youth leadership in Africa.

He observed that the prevailing attitude among Nigerian youths is one of ” tag- along, ” where they aspire to be special assistants to governors or senators rather than aspiring for leadership positions.
