NOT AGAIN, Deadly Cult Members Flood Community During Easter Celebration, Shoot Sporadically; See What They Did To Residents
On Easter Monday, 1st April 2024 in Anambra State, precisely in it’ s capital city known as Awka, a total of six individuals are said to have lost their lives after getting shot in cold blood. The six victims were sent to their graves in the city amidst the Easter holiday, a source informed news reporters.
Some were reported to have died in the Okpuno region behind Juhel, while others met their end around Obinagu and the Eke Awka area in what appears to be a deadly attack launched by suspected cult members.
However, reports from reliable sources revealed that, one of the incidences took place at Opposite Dike Park, near the Eke Awka Market in the state capital of Awka whereby a group of renegade cultists reportedly invaded the area and constituted nuisance.
Sources claimed that the violence started on Sunday, 31st March 2024 at noon and spread to the Obinagu region, where the cultists shot and killed a few more people for reasons yet- to- be ascertained.
One of the victims who suffered a bullet wound was discovered to be a staff worker of the Anambra State Judiciary, known only as Mr. Nwofor. Although, before the cultists attacked, it was claimed that he was innocently going about his regular business only for the unexpected to occur.
Furthermore, this was confirmed in a trending video that is presently popular on social media and shows the remains of two of the people who were shot and killed in the Eke Awka area. People were observed to br running for their lives as one of the victims was spotted fighting for his life in a pool of blood next to his motorcycle he fell down as a result of the fatal gunshot.
A resident of Awka who did not want his name mentioned said that, ‘I suspected that there would be cult killings this period. You know that most wanted cultists have left town, but during festive periods, they always come home to celebrate, and their rivals use the opportunity to pay them back for their past atrocities, which may include that they have killed their members”.
Conclusively, despite being known for cult activity, Awka has been enjoyed a noticeable level of peace and tranquility for a while now since police officials have threatened to deal with cultists.
Following threats from cults, police have taken some cultists into custody. But, there have been rumors of cults’ sponsors being apprehended in the past as well.
When reached, the Superintendent of Police, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Anambra State Police Command affirmed that no such report of Easter Day cult killings has been brought to his attention but assured to look into the matter.
