GOD WHY? Few Days To Easter Celebration, Children Killed On A Spot In Front Of Mother After This Happened
On Saturday, 23rd March 2024, at the top of the River Niger Bridge in Onitsha, which is situated in Anambra State, two children of same parents were fatally crushed to death by a truck.
It was discovered that the brakes of truck failed while driving and as a result of this, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which caused the unexpected collision leading to the gruesome ending of the innocent youngsters.
Following the information obtained by local journalists who visited the scene, around 5: 00 p. m on Saturday, the ugly incident occurred. Nonetheless, the mother of the two deceased kids managed to flee from the crash unharmed but the same thing cannot be said for her children.
An eyewitness, who verified the tragedy, noted that, ” the trailer which was heading towards Asaba lost control and hit the mother and her children alongside other passengers waiting to board vehicles heading to Asaba. The mother was lucky, as she escaped, but her two children were crushed to death right before her eyes” .
Speaking further, the eyewitness disclosed that, the mother wept bitterly while other unfortunate persons caught up in the tragedy sustained severe injuries and were quickly rushed to the nearest medical facility for treatment. The bodies of the children were then removed from the scene and taken to the mortuary.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) are yet to respond to comments regarding the unfortunate occurrence as of the time this heartbreaking story was filed to the general public.

In the meantime, this is the exact same reason why commercial drivers are mandated to check and confirm the status of their vehicles before embarking on any journey on the highway in order to prevent similar cases such as this because it can be so disheartening to experience such a horrible incident and any life claimed in such scenario can never be replaced which makes prevention better than cure.
Hence, at the scene of the above- mentioned tragedy, concerned individuals especially women did their best to console the distraught mother in the best way they can even though she was weeping uncontrollably for hours even as the bodies of her children were taken away.
