Man Confronts His Own Father With Machete, BUTCHERS Him To DEATH After Accusing Him Of Doing This To Him
On Tuesday, 19th March 2024, a man who goes by the name of Okon Edet has been apprehended and taken into custody for ending the life of his father, Edet Oyoho in a very horrible manner by hacking him to death with a machete over a plot of land in Uruting Village, Okobo Local Government Area LGA of Akwa Ibom State. It was learnt that this unfortunate occurrence actually transpired on 13th March, 2023.
Years Old For Killing Father In Oyo State;
When approached by local news reporters, Odiko Macdon, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), verified the ugly occurrence with news reporters while assuring that the suspect has been caught and currently being interrogated by the police.
The police spokesperson, Macdon continued saying, the deceased was the owner of multiple state- owned pieces of land, and the suspect had confessed to the heinous act, disclosing that his father went ahead to sell some parcels of land including the one he had earlier given him to build his house on and as a result of this, which he considered as betrayal, he killed him.
Explaining further, the PPRO recounted that, ” on March 13, 2024, following reliable intelligence, operatives of Okobo Division arrested one Okon Edet of Uruting Village in the Okobo L. G. A. for killing his father, one Chief Edet Okon Oyoho, aged 75, of the same address, by beating him mercilessly with a machete, leading to his demise” .
“The suspect confessed to the crime. His reason for perpetrating the heinous crime was that he got information that his father, now late, who owns many parcels of land in their community in Okobo L. G. A., has sold many of the lands, including the one he gave to him as his son to build a house”, he added.

In addition, he went on to say that the suspect murdered his father by initially severely beating him mercilessly before throwing the final blow with a machete after the deceased told him that the buyers had not yet paid for the land when the he approached him to demand payment.
“So, he confronted his father and confirmed that the information was true, and he asked his father for the money he got from selling the land, and the father replied that the buyers hadn’t paid. So, he got angry and macheted him to death”, the police spokesperson affirmed.
Hence, it was also claimed in a similar but different incident that a man named Nkereuwem Ekpo killed his grandma, Martina Akpan by disfiguring and dismembering her body at Udo Village, which is located in the Essien Udim Local Government Area LGA of Akwa Ibom state and at around 2: 00p. m on February 25, the tragic incident took place and as it stands, it was lated discovered that the suspect who is currently being held by the police cut his grandmother’ s neck after stealing the sum of N16, 750 from her.
