Declare state of emergency PFN tells Tinubu
THE Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), has urged President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in the state due to the rise in costs of living In the country.
The national president of the body, Bishop Wale Oke made this declaration at the joint CPFN/PFN Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria/Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Meeting in Lagos, expressed the body’s concerns for the nation, stressing that, “We should focus on the country’s current hardship, which has put the economy in a state of jeopardy.”
“We want to urge all contestants in the last election to stop fighting instead they should embrace peace, respect the validity of the Supreme Court, and join hands with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to build an egalitarian society.
“As we know things are very challenging in Nigeria today, the price of goods, price of petroleum price of building materials, food, cement, and transport have all gone up yet the salary that the people are earning has not increased.
“There is an urgent call for the president to find solutions to the woes Nigerians are facing in the country, to achieve the true Democracy we aim for to reduce the hardship the people are facing.
“President Bola Tinubu should review the salary of workers across the country but beyond this, they should tackle the economy that’s almost collapsing.
“A situation whereby one dollar will buy two thousand naira a situation where a bag of cement is beyond Ten thousand naira, how do block breakers survive? How do people who are building will they build? The economy is collapsing and the government should do something urgent about it,” he added.
He urged that the church is praying for the nation and that God will help the president and his team to build a better nation.
Oke, who is also the president and founder of Sword Of The Spirit Ministries, however, called for the president to declare a state of emergency on insecurity in Nigeria as it is affecting the peace of the nation.
“I want to urge our president to look at the banking sector seriously a situation where bank executives are openly rich in their building houses with billions of naira. And Nigerians are dying, the youth have no jobs the retirees have no pension to collect. We urge our President to Sanitize the Banking sector also the value of the Naira should be looked into. The salary of workers cannot even fuel their car,” he added.
He also prayed for President Tinubu to do what is right for Nigeria and that history will write your name in gold.
