In a shocking revelation, Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, has blamed former President Muhammadu Buhari for the economic woes of Nigeria.
Igboho said Buhari ruined the country and handed over a bad economy to President Bola Tinubu, who is not responsible for the hardship in the country.
Igboho made this statement on Friday while addressing his followers in Oyo State. He urged Yoruba to unite and liberate the Southwest from armed Fulani herders, who he accused of terrorizing the region.
“Tinubu didn’t destroy the government; my pain with Yoruba’ s is that while Buhari was in power, I was shouting that we should unite and free ourselves from this suffering. Buhari has nothing to offer us,” Igboho said in Yoruba. Watch Related
“I said we should divide from Fulani because one Nigeria can’t work, but they refused to listen to me. Buhari now handed over a government he had destroyed to Tinubu,” he added.
Igboho claimed that some Yoruba’ s are crying of hunger, while Igbos are prospering in their lands. He said Igbos have sent all Fulani’s out of their lands and are farming, doing what they want with their lands.
“Why can’t Yoruba s unite and liberate the Southwest from Fulani’s so that our fathers and mothers can return to their farmlands?” he asked.
Igboho’s comments come amid the rising tensions in the country over the agitation for self- determination by some ethnic groups. Igboho has been leading the campaign for the creation of a Yoruba Nation, separate from Nigeria.
He has also been on the run from the authorities, who declared him wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms and inciting violence.
