Elupo Eliazer, a member of the People with Disabilities (PWDs) in Kogi State, revealed that his wife and son were among those taken captive in the brazen abduction.
Distraught and fearful, Eliazer recounted the chilling details of the ordeal, disclosing that the abductors wasted no time in reaching out to demand a ransom of N30 million. However, after tense negotiations and heartfelt appeals, the ransom was eventually reduced to N2. 6 million, though the exorbitant sum still weighs heavily on the families of the victims.
“The victims were en route to attend a church convention in Lokoja. I opted to travel in a separate vehicle, as the Toyota we were in could not accommodate all of us. Otherwise, I would have been among those abducted, ” Eliazer lamented, reflecting on the precariousness of their circumstances.
Amidst the turmoil, the Kogi State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, has been approached for updates on the situation.
