House of Assembly member clears medical bills of victims of Taraba attacks
The member representing Karim II state constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Anas Shuaibu, has announced that he will clear the medical bills of victims of the recent attacks in Karim-Lamido local government areas of the state.
The attacks, which occurred early this week in Didango community, left several persons with various degrees of injuries.
Two persons were also confirmed dead in the attacks suspected to have been carried out by ethnic militias.
Announcing his decision to foot the hospital bills of the injured victims, the lawmaker urged ethnic militias in the area to sheathe their swords.
“We are all brothers and sisters; we cannot allow this situation where we kill ourselves to continue,” he said.
Shauibu further stated that the incumbent administration under the leadership of Governor Agbu Kefas is working hard to ensure that peace reigns in every part of the State.
He made the announcement over the weekend when he paid an unscheduled visit to the victims who are receiving medical attention at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, in Jalingo.
The victims and relatives of the affected persons who exploded in joy at the announcement, said the gesture would go a long way in ameliorating their pains.
