TINUBU VINDICATED? Akpabio Shocks Nigerians, Reveals Top Politicians Behind Country’s Economic Woes, Hardship; See Who Was mentioned
The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has blamed the previous administrations for the current economic woes facing the country, saying that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu- led government inherited a mirage of problems that cannot be solved overnight. He urged Nigerians to be patient and supportive of the federal government’s efforts to restore the economy. Akpabio made these remarks yesterday at a thanksgiving service in honour of Senator Barinada Mpigi, who represents Rivers South-East Senatorial District, at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Koroma Parish, Diocese of Ogoni. He said that the service was a testimony of God s faithfulness and grace in the life of Mpigi, who he described as a true PDP Senator and a worthy son of Ogoni land.
According to a statement by his media aide, Mr Jackson Udom, Akpabio said that the 10th Senate was united and harmonious, regardless of political party affiliations, because they see themselves as Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not of any political party. He said that the Senate was working in collaboration with the executive arm of government to deliver good governance and dividends of democracy to the people.
He said: President Bola Tinubu inherited an economically precarious situation upon taking office, comparable to a mirage. Past actions and policies of relevant institutions have contributed to these challenges. Despite this, the Federal Government is committed to not letting the people down. Your patience with the administration is appreciated, as addressing the 60-year-old issues cannot be accomplished in just seven months.
He commended Mpigi for remembering his roots and giving thanks to God for his electoral victory and his successful swearing- in into the 10th Senate. He said that Mpigi’ s father trained him well and that many have died along the way without fulfilling their destiny. He said that Mpigi was a blessing to his people and the nation at large. He also appreciated the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his support for President Tinubu, saying that it was his support that made the South South to produce the first Minister of the FCT. He said that Wike was a visionary leader who had transformed Rivers State and the FCT with his developmental projects and
policies.
In his brief remarks, Wike thanked Akpabio for leading the entire Senate to Rivers State and appointing for the first time, an indigene of the state to chair the Senate Committee on Works. He said that Senator Mpigi had gone through a lot in his life and that was why this thanksgiving service was in order. He said that Mpigi was a loyal and courageous politician who had contributed immensely to the success of the 2023 elections. He said: “Over 85 to 90 per cent of those who made the 2023 elections what it came out to be, are all here. They have refused to be intimidated and nobody can intimate them. enactment of that feat.”

said that today’s event was uncommon
because of the presence of the
uncommon Senate President. He thanked God for making it possible for them to gather here today to hold this service in deep appreciation of His benevolence in granting him victory in the last general elections as well as his successful swearing- in into the 10th Senate. He thanked Wike for his gracious support to him during the last general elections, as well as during the post elections tribunal, saying that it would remain dear to his heart. He also thanked Akpabio for allowing God’s will to be done through him by taking them
to where they are today in the highest
lawmaking body of the land. He said: ”
