Woman With Three Children Faint In Ibadan Market Because Of Hunger, See What Her Children Were Seen Doing
In Ibadan, Oyo State, a market strolling with her three children resulted in the recent collapse of an unidentified widow from starvation.
A popular video that was posted on social media on Friday depicted the upsetting scenario. In the video, the widow is surrounded by supporters as she lies weakly on the bare ground by the side of the road.
According to traders in the video, the widow, who came from Amuloko in Ibadan with her three children, fainted with one of the children on her back at Oja Oba Iso Ololubo. The purpose of their journey was to buy a bag of sachet water on credit.
Traders and passersby, moved by the dire situation, began donating money for the widow in a small black plastic bucket, and her youngest child was given pap. The widow, too weak to speak, had reportedly not eaten for four days, as per her account.
The eldest child of the widow, a girl, explained in Yoruba, “We’ ve not eaten for four days.
“My mother said all of us should come to carry water and sell it so that we can find money to eat. We were walking from home, and she fell down here. “The Nigeria Labour Congress has declared a two-day nationwide strike from February 27 to 28, 2024, in response to the prevailing economic challenges across the country.
The incident sparked reactions all over the media as so many people came out to see how the innocent poor woman was crying for help.
Her children were also standing very close to her and watching her shed tears for hunger.
The Federal government has been called to intervene in the hardship, killings and hunger that is taking over the country.
However money was contributed to the woman to use and take care of herself and family.
