In an extraordinary turn of events at the CEBEC hospital in Douala, Cameroon, a 17-year-old boy named Poupog Kevin, presumed dead after a drowning incident at the Bellevue Hotel pool on Sunday, January 28, 2024, has seemingly returned to life. Astonishingly, Kevin’ s body, which had been stored at the hospital’ s mortuary for over a week, was discovered by mortuary attendants sitting comfortably in a chair outside the mortuary on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024.
The shocking discovery unfolded when the head mortician, Louis Maries Mbella, was alerted by a security guard around 3 am on Monday. The guard reported that someone had taken a chair outside. prompting Mbella to investigate. To his bewilderment, Mbella found Poupog Kevin, the teenager declared dead, sitting outside. In a white robe and underwear, Kevin appeared alive, his eyes closed but wearing a peculiar smile.
Mbella recounted the surreal encounter, stating, I approached the young man and asked him, ‘Why did you take this chair outside, and when they asked you refused to react?’ He said nothing. Upon closer inspection with a phone’s torchlight, Mbella realized that the young man outside was indeed the deceased Kevin. The mortician, astonished by this Inexplicable occurrence, checked the mortuary to confirm that Kevin’ s original embalmed location was empty.
The perplexing incident has left both medical professionals and the public baffled, as the teenager’ s body, once stored in the mortuary alongside other naked bodies, was found alive and fully clothed outside the facility.
