Kidnapper Begs For Mercy, After She Was Caught Collecting Ransom Money For Kidnapped Victim
The suspected female kidnapper was successfully captured in Taraba by Nigerian Army troops from the 93 Battalion, which is a part of the 6th Brigade, after she tried to demand a ransom to be released from custody. A well-known gunrunner who was arming and ambushing criminals in Taraba State and other regions of the nation wae X apprehended by them.
Lieutenant Oni Olubodunde, a spokesman for the 6th Brigade, said that 45-year-old Joshua Dutse Idah was arrested when the troops investigated the arms dealer’ s activities using credible intelligence. As Idah drove toward Kaduna State in a blue Volkswagen Sharon bearing the license number Rivers SKN-390AA, she was apprehended. He was placed under arrest at Ibbi Town, in the state’s Ibbi Local Government Area. During questioning, Idah acknowledged that he had received N300, 000 in exchange for transferring AK-47 firearms to Katsina State. Three AK-47 rifle magazines, one PK machine gun, and 399 rounds of special 7, 62 mm ammunition were taken by the soldiers from his automobile.
Along with Idah, the soldiers also
detained 31-year-old Janet Igohia, who was possibly abducted. She was apprehended after being paid N1. 5 million in ransom for a victim who had been abducted in the Chanchangi area of Takum LGA. Igohia revealed her marital status as being married to infamous criminal Voryor Gata, who was the late Gana Terwase’s former second-in- command. She admitted to have previously wed prominent felons, such as the late Gana Terwase and Terkibi Gemaga, popularly known as Mopol, who were both put to death by the military in previous operations.
Additionally, troops stationed in the Mararaba Baissa community of Donga LGA apprehended two suspected gunrunners involved in extrajudicial executions and cattle rustling. The forty- year-old Alhaji Adamu Damisa and the forty-four-year-old Usman Isah, the suspects, were found to be carrying two Techno mobile phones and the proceeds of their unlawful activities.
Lieutenant Olubodunde emphasized that
the army is committed to deterring crime and ensuring the safety and security of communities in Taraba State and beyond. The military’s effective operations not only support peace and stability in the region but also show how determined it is to dismantle criminal networks and obstruct their illicit activities.
