The Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE) has officially launched a momentous self-referendum, marking a significant stride towards the realization of the longstanding aspiration for an Independent Biafra nation.
Prime Minister Ekpa Simon, in a document obtained by our correspondent, outlined the comprehensive overview of the E-voting platform that will play a pivotal role in this historic process.
Scheduled to commence on February 1, 2024, the voting will continue until a substantial number of votes are garnered.
The unique challenges posed by internet accessibility and power shortages in rural areas prompted this extended timeframe.
BRGIE passionately called upon all Nigerians of Igbo descent to actively engage in this online referendum, emphasizing the fundamental right of Biafra citizens to freely choose their sovereignty.
Highlighting the unwavering loyalty exhibited by Biafrans, particularly through the consistent observance of sit- at-home protests during Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s court appearances over the past two years, BRGIE underscored the desire to break free from subjugation and recurring atrocities against their people.
The steps taken by BRGIE aim to fulfill the prerequisites for a peaceful actualization of the quest for self- preservation and the independence of the United States of Biafra.
By delegitimizing Nigeria in Biafra territory through declarations such as the Grievance Declaration, Institutionalization Declaration, and Commitment Declaration, coupled with the legitimization of the Biafra Government, BRGIE believes that Biafra Liberation has achieved the status for international recognition.
The upcoming referendum is seen as
another crucial stride towards freedom, providing Biafra citizens with an opportunity to express their unwavering commitment to an independent United
States of Biafra.
To participate in the referendum, individuals must meet specific criteria, including being a Biafran by birth, aged 18 or above, and possessing knowledge of their State and County, serving as their precinct.
Additionally, participants are required to have a passport photo, which can be taken with a phone, provided it does not exceed 2MB.
