SHOCKING REVELATION!!! APC Insider Exposes Growing Insensitivity, Directionlessness Toward Nigerians’ Crisis, See His Words
Salihu Lukman, a former National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has voiced strong criticism against President Bola Tinubu, alleging a growing insensitivity towards the plight of Nigerian citizens under his administration.
In his statement released in Abuja, Lukman highlighted the stark escalation in the prices of essential commodities since Tinubu assumed office. He pointed. out that within a mere 10 months, the cost of a 50kg bag of rice skyrocketed from N28, 000 in May 2023 to approximately N70, 000 by February 2024. Lukman further underscored the alarming surge in prices of maize, groundnut oil, and palm oil, rendering them unaffordable for many citizens. These steep price hikes, he attributed, are directly linked to Tinubu’s government’s decisions to remove petroleum subsidy and allow the fluctuation of the naira exchange rate.
Expressing deep concern for the economic hardship inflicted on Nigerians, Lukman emphasized the urgent need for proactive measures to address the escalating cost of living. He lamented the dwindling purchasing power of citizens, which has plummeted to less than 25% of its pre- May 2023 value. Lukman condemned what he perceived as a lack of coherent government strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of the economic downturn.
Furthermore, Lukman expressed profound disappointment in Tinubu’ s leadership, noting a departure from the democratic ideals that the party once championed. He urged Tinubu and other APC leaders to prioritize the welfare of Nigerian citizens above all else and recalibrate the party’s policies to align with the needs of the populace.
In a sobering reflection, Lukman cautioned against the erosion of democratic principles within the APC, stressing the imperative of upholding democratic structures to effectively address citizens’ grievances. He concluded his statement with a heartfelt prayer for enlightenment among Nigerian politicians, urging them to recognize the urgent imperative of addressing the pressing challenges confronting millions of citizens across the nation.
