A man who goes by the name, Jalaludeen Zakari, a head teacher in Burra village, Ningi local government area LGA of Bauchi state has bagged himself 11 years prison sentence for sexually abusing one of his students by fingering her inside the school premises until he ran out of luck and he was caught and exposed for who he really is.
During trial of the accused, Justice Nana. Fatimah Jibrin, the presiding judge of Bauchi State High Court No. 11, passed down the above-mentioned judgement in her ruling on the case filed against the guilty party on Saturday, 10th February 2024.
The victimized girl, 6 years of age who was a student in the school where Jalaludeen Zakari worked as a head teacher reportedly there for an admissions check and screening, but Instead she was violated by the randy man who kept her for hours after the school officially closed.
However, this disturbing occurrence was revealed via a conversation with journalists in Bauchi by State Counsel for the Ministry of Justice, Barrister Dayabu Ayuba, who is also the prosecuting attorney, adding that no less than three witnesses were presented to testify against the defendant, one of whom being the victim who gave a courtroom testimony, during the trial.
The prosecutor noted that, “the perpetrator asked his victim to stay back and dismissed all pupils without explaining why she had to stay while other pupils were sent home. Although he did not use his manhood on the girl, he fingered her and, in legal parlance, this is tantamount to rape. Such a person needs to be locked up for a very long time as he posses as a threat to other unsuspecting victims and students. in the school who might have no clue of what he’s capable of doing”.
In the meantime, Dayyabu Ayuba continued saying that the court case which started in the month of July of last year, 2023 has finally ended on Saturday, 10th February 2024 after several adjourned dates in response to a court request from Jalaludeen Zakari for mercy regarding the crime committed.
