JUST IN: Army calls for calm as troops begin Exercise Vulcan Glow
The Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery has advised residents of Kachia and its environs in Kaduna State not to panic following the movement of troops, military weapons and equipment.
This was contained in a statement by the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Captain Adekunle Adeyemi.
According to the statement, the exercise is a continuation of the Nigerian Army training activities for the year, adding that the exercise, nicknamed “Ex Vulcan Glow IX,” would commence from October 20 to November 3, 2023, at the Military Training Range, Kachia, Kaduna State.
According to the statement, during the period of the exercise, mass movement of troops, military weapons and equipment will be noticed as well as sound of gun shots.
The statement further advised residents of Kachia and the general public not to panic and also to keep away from the general area of the exercise, as the exercise will climax in a firepower demonstration on October 30.
