BOOM! Massive Jubilation As Army Kill 2 Powerful Bandits Leaders, 20 Foot Soldiers In Zamfara Communities
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has achieved a significant breakthrough in its fight against banditry and insurgency, eliminating two notorious bandit leaders along with more than 20 of their fighters in Zamfara State. The airstrikes, carried out in the early hours of March 13, targeted hideouts deep within the Unguwar Goga hillforest in Faskari Local Government Area. This precision operation was executed based on intelligence reports, ensuring that fortified camps used by the criminal leaders, identified as Alhaji Riga and Gero, were effectively dismantled. The strikes caused severe damage to the insurgents’ strongholds, and authorities are currently assessing the full impact of the mission.
These eliminated leaders were known for orchestrating numerous criminal activities, including sheltering terrorists responsible for ambushes along the Funtua- Gusau highway, particularly between Yankara and Sheme villages.

Their deaths mark a crucial step in ongoing efforts to weaken bandit networks and restore security in the North- West region. Experts in security affairs suggest that removing key figures within these criminal organizations could significantly disrupt their operations and limit their ability to continue violent activities.
In another major development, security forces under Operation Hadin Kai, working as part of the 21 Armored Brigade, successfully dismantled a base linked to the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) in Dalari, Borno State. This operation, conducted with the support of the Civilian Joint Task Force and Hybrid Forces, took place in the early hours of March 15, 2025. The offensive, codenamed ” Desert Sanity 4, ” led to a fierce confrontation with insurgents at approximately 7: 10 a. m. As a result, four terrorists were neutralized, while others sustained injuries and managed to escape. Security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the scene, further crippling the militants’ operational capabilities.
Meanwhile, in Kaduna, security operatives successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt on Seimon Matthias, the former Executive Chairman of Kaura Local Government Area. The attack occurred on February 14 around 11: 00 p. m. when gunmen stormed Matthias’ residence in Kagoro, firing indiscriminately in an attempt to abduct him. Quick response from police officers and other security personnel led to a prolonged gunfight, forcing the attackers to abandon their mission and flee into the surrounding mountains.
