ANOTHER Biafra WAR? Nnamdi Kanu Receives BAD- NEWS As Nigerian Army Declares WAR Against IPOB, ESN
The Nigerian Army has restated its dedication to eradicating the illegal activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in the South- East region.
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) also vowed to put an end to the sit- at- home culture enforced by IPOB, which has negatively impacted businesses, schools, and general economic activities in the region.
Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, emphasised the military’ s resolve to restore normalcy in the region. He acknowledged that, despite ongoing efforts by security agencies, some residents still fear going to work on Mondays due to threats from the group.
Major General Buba highlighted the significance of Operation Udo Ka, a military initiative specifically designed to tackle insecurity in the South- East. He likened it to Operation Hadin Kai, which has been instrumental in combating insurgency in the North- East.
He stated, ” The past three commanders in the region have worked tirelessly to encourage people to go about their normal business. However, in some areas, residents still stay home out of fear. The commanders are working hard to free the South- East from IPOB/ESN influence. ”
While addressing concerns about conflicting narratives regarding security operations, Major General Buba used an analogy to stress the credibility of the military’ s reports.
He said, ” Something is happening in my house; I am the head of the house; I have children, I have a wife, and then Kuma Shi (someone else) is reporting what is happening in my house to me. Which one would be more correct? The one I tell you as the head of the house or the one Kuma Shi is reporting from outside? ”
