NO More ₦890/Litre: Good News For Nigerians As Dangote Reduces Petrol Price Drastically; SEE New Price
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the ex- depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol. Effective from 27th February 2025, the price will drop by ₦65. 00 per litre, from ₦890 to ₦825.
This latest adjustment, according to the management of Dangote Refinery, is aimed at providing much- needed relief to Nigerians, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming Ramadan season. Additionally, the move aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’ s economic recovery policy, which seeks to reduce the financial burden on citizens.
Dangote Refinery has consistently lowered the prices of petrol and other refined petroleum products in recent months. This marks the second price cut in February 2025, following an earlier reduction of ₦60. 00 earlier in the month.
In December 2024, during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the refinery also slashed the price of PMS by ₦70. 50, bringing it down from ₦970 to ₦899. 50 per litre. The company has reiterated its commitment to easing the cost of living and supporting Nigerians through strategic price reductions during key periods.
Retail Prices Across Regions
With this latest reduction, the price of Dangote petrol will vary across different regions in Nigeria. The refinery’ s management has confirmed the following retail prices at partner fuel stations:
MRS Holdings Stations:
Lagos: ₦860 per litre
South- West: ₦870 per litre
North: ₦880 per litre
South- South/South- East: ₦890 per litre
AP (Ardova Petroleum) and Heyden Stations:
Lagos: ₦865 per litre
South- West: ₦875 per litre
North: ₦885 per litre
South- South/South- East: ₦895 per litre
Commitment To Steady Supply And Economic Growth
The refinery has assured the public that there is a stable supply of petroleum products, with adequate reserves to meet both local demand and export requirements. The company emphasised that surplus production will contribute to boosting Nigeria’ s foreign exchange earnings.
