The IPOB Political Wing (IPOB- PW), a splinter group from the main IPOB organization, recently issued a statement asserting that Nnamdi Kanu had authorized them to engage in negotiations with the Nigerian government regarding the future of the Southeast region. According to the group’ s spokesperson, Emereonye Nwachukwu, Kanu had indirectly communicated his approval of the negotiations through meetings with his associates while in detention.
Nwachukwu explained that the group’ s initiative came after recent comments by Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, which raised hopes for Kanu’ s possible release.
