Senator Ndume Is A Content Creator? Ex- Speaker Drops Bombshell Over Tax Reform Bills Saga
A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has strongly criticised Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, for his persistent condemnation of President Bola Tinubu’ s administration.
Dogara aired his views on Monday during Channels TV’ s Town Hall meeting, where discussions centred around the controversial Tax Reform Bills introduced by the federal government. His comments were in response to Ndume’ s recent public criticisms of the government’ s policies, particularly the tax reforms that have sparked debates among northern stakeholders, including governors and lawmakers.
Senator Ndume, a vocal opponent of the proposed tax reforms, recently hit back at detractors who have labelled him ignorant. Speaking on Channels TV, the senator defended his academic and professional credentials.
” I’ m 65 years old. I schooled in Nigeria and in America. Because I’ m wearing Agbada and because I’ m from Borno State, some people call me ignorant, ” he said.
Highlighting his experience, Ndume added, ” I taught in polytechnics for 20 years before I joined politics. I married two of my daughters to Yoruba men. ”
His comments were a direct rebuttal to critics who, he claimed, undermine his intelligence based on cultural or regional biases. In a scathing response, Dogara dismissed Ndume’ s remarks, emphasising that intelligence is not defined by one’ s educational background or public appearances.
” No northern leader will ever do what Tinubu has done by creating a livestock ministry for the north, ” Dogara said. ” If we get it right, the north won’ t need to share VAT from another state. “
