Ex- Nigerian Football Star Dies After He Buried His Wife; See Details
One of the prominent young Nigerian football stars has been reported dead. It is very sad that the footballer died shortly after he buried his wife. The death of his wife suspectedly contributed to his death according to the information gathered. Also, his death should serve as a lesson to everyone. The Nigerian footballer, Gift Atulewa, has been announced dead. The deceased was a 38- year- old man who gave up the ghost on the 12th of November, 2024 at 7 am. He has been down after the demise of his wife and the tragic incident probably led to why he did not concentrate on his health. The person who confirmed his death made it known that he died of a sickness that can easily be managed/treated.
The spokesperson for the Delta State Football Association, Azuka Chiemeka, confirmed his death to the public. He said the deceased footballer buried his wife last month and the death of his wife may have contributed to his death. However, the cause of his wife’ s death was not disclosed.
While revealing the cause of the footballer’ s, Azuka said he died of blood pressure complications. He further disclosed that the deceased had been having blood pressure issues but he had been managing it, however, two days before his death, his condition deteriorated, and was taken to the hospital where it was confirmed that he had malaria and again his blood pressure has risen up before he eventually died on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was a young man who was working very hard to be a successful footballer, he recently returned to Nigeria from Cote d’ Ivoire where he recently completed a coaching course, it is unfortunate that he won’ t be able to put the course into practice.
The deceased began his career with the Bayelsa United FC before moving to the Ocean Boys FC and later Warri Wolves FC where he became a bit popular. He was one of the footballers who participated in the Nigerian U- 20 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands.
