BREAKING: Kamala Harris’ Running Mate, Tim Walz Declares ‘WAR’, Vows To Fight Donald Trump; SEE Details
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Kamala Harris’ running mate made strong statements on Friday, vowing to protect his state from what he described as President- elect Donald Trump’ s ” hateful agenda. ”
Speaking to supporters in Eagan, Walz promised that his administration would continue to implement policies that serve the best interests of Minnesotans, despite challenges from the incoming national leadership.
Walz, who is in the second year of his second term as governor, expressed confidence that the U. S. government had promised to leave certain decisions to the states.
He said, ” The other side spent a lot of time campaigning and talking about and promising that they would leave things up to the states. Well, I’ m willing to take them at their word for that. ” However, Walz made it clear that he would not stand by if policies that he considered harmful were introduced in Minnesota.
He added, ” The moment they try and bring a hateful agenda in this state, I’ m going to stand ready to stand up and fight. ” Walz emphasized his commitment to protect key values in the state, including a woman’ s right to make her own healthcare decisions, a stance he firmly supports as long as he remains in office.
” As long as I’ m governor of Minnesota, we will protect a woman’ s right to make her own health care decisions, ” Walz declared. The governor also reiterated his commitment to welcoming immigrants and standing with the global effort to combat climate change.
” As long as I’ m governor of Minnesota, we will defend our kids’ freedom to go to school without worrying about being shot dead in their classroom, ” Walz said, underscoring his belief in strong policies for safety and equality.
Although the 60- year- old governor’ s remarks came after the election of President- elect Trump, he urged the people of Minnesota to move forward and unite for the common good of the state.
” I will say and acknowledge this: about one and a half million of our fellow Minnesotans voted for the other side in this election, ” Walz said. Despite political differences, he stressed the importance of listening to everyone, even those with whom one disagrees.
Walz spoke about the need for reconciliation, urging citizens to find common ground after a divisive election. ” While there might not be a place in our state for the most extreme elements of that agenda, there should be a place in our politics for everyone to be heard, ” he said.

He further emphasized, ” I think we ought to swallow. . . a little bit of pride and look a little harder to find common ground with our neighbors who didn’ t vote like we did in this election. ” The governor concluded with a hopeful message, suggesting that by finding ways to engage with one another, Minnesotans could strengthen their communities.
” Maybe when we get a little break from this campaign that we’ re in, we’ ll be able to look at each other and see not enemies but neighbors, ” Walz said. ” Maybe we’ ll be able to sit down over coffee or a Diet Mountain Dew and just talk, talk about our kids, talk about the lives we want to build for them. . . “
