Simon Ekpa, the leader of the Biafra Republic Government In- Exile, has made a bold announcement that the Biafran government will support all United Nations (UN) Human Rights Treaties in its upcoming Declaration Convention. Ekpa shared this significant decision during an X space meeting on Thursday, declaring it as a crucial step to underscore the ongoing struggle of the Biafran people.
Ekpa emphasized that Biafra’ s endorsement of these UN treaties is aimed at highlighting the continued marginalization and oppression of Biafrans in Nigeria, specifically in the South- East region. He pointed out that Biafrans have been victims of attacks and unfair treatment by the Nigerian government since the Nigerian Civil War of 1967. According to Ekpa, ” The Biafra Government will assent to all United Nations Human Rights Treaties during the Convention. ”
