‘Lagbaja WAS KILLED’- Family Members Drops Shocking Bombshell Days After COAS Death
Pa Tajudeen Lagbaja, the elder relative of the late Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, former Chief of Army Staff, has expressed profound sorrow over his decision to secure a Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) application form for his late nephew. In a heartfelt reflection, he conveyed that had he anticipated the tragic outcome of a military career, he would never have facilitated the application process.
The Lagbaja family is grappling with deep grief, and some members have raised unsettling suspicions about the circumstances surrounding Lt. General Lagbaja’ s demise. They suggest that his death may be linked to supernatural forces tied to a land dispute in his hometown of Ilobu, situated within the Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State. This contentious issue reportedly surfaced in 2023 when the Nigerian Army presented plans to build a hospital in the community, igniting tensions among local stakeholders.
In an interview with The Nation, Pa Tajudeen lamented the untimely loss of his nephew, expressing regret over the decision to support his military aspirations. He stated that if he had known the risks involved and the potential for such a tragic fate, he would have chosen otherwise. ” If I had any inkling that his life would be cut short, I would never have pursued the NDA application for him, ” he expressed, conveying the weight of his sorrow.
Reflecting on the inevitability of death, he remarked, ” Everyone who is born must die, and we give glory to God. However, the year I secured the NDA form for him, if I had known he would pass before me, I would have refrained from doing so. I regret that decision, but I also recognize it as part of destiny. ”
Pa Tajudeen fondly recalled how Lt. General Lagbaja had taken on responsibilities that benefitted the community, including the construction of boreholes for his father’ s compound and other local facilities. His contributions have left a significant mark, and the family is struggling to come to terms with the shock of his passing. ” We can never forget him; his death has left us devastated. I have accepted this fate, but all the promises he made to me now feel unfulfilled, ” he shared, highlighting the hope that Lt. General Lagbaja had always instilled in his family despite their hardships.
Adding to the family’ s distress, a relative identified as Madam Toyin alleged that the circumstances of Lt. General Lagbaja’ s death might be linked to sinister motives related to the ongoing land dispute within the community. As the family navigates this painful chapter, they remain determined to honor the memory and legacy of a man who served his country and community with dedication.
