Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, issued a stern warning to the newly- appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, on the growing threat of terrorism in Nigeria. In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the prophet warned that between December and February, terrorist groups are planning to strike in five states, including high- profile areas like Abuja, Imo, Plateau, Niger, Katsina, Borno, and Benue. He cautioned that the Nigerian Army must take proactive measures to counter these threats and protect the country’ s military formations.
According to Primate Ayodele, these planned attacks could lead to significant casualties, especially among the military. He urged the Army to act swiftly, stating that soldiers should avoid unnecessary loss of life. The prophet recommended a thorough cleanup of terrorist cells and vigilance, as new and potentially more dangerous groups are preparing to launch their attacks. ” I don’ t want people to start killing our soldiers; they don’ t deserve to die, ” he said, stressing the importance of military caution in the coming months.
In his statement, Primate Ayodele also referred to the emergence of a new, smaller terrorist group, which he believes could be eliminated by Nigerian security forces if they remain committed and prepared. However, he warned that the situation could escalate by 2025 if decisive action is not taken now. The prophet’ s previous warnings about the rise of new terrorist groups under former COAS leadership were echoed in his recent remarks.
Additionally, Primate Ayodele stressed that the fight against terrorism in Nigeria is not only a physical battle but also a spiritual one. He pointed out that insecurity in the country must be addressed on multiple fronts, including prayer and spiritual intervention. As part of his earlier predictions, he had advised the Nigerian Army to build ” three towers for God” to help fight insecurity, emphasizing the importance of spiritual protection and guidance in tackling these threats.
Looking ahead, the prophet warned of a much larger and more formidable coalition of terrorist groups that could pose an even greater challenge. This new coalition, according to Ayodele, will likely combine elements of notorious international terrorist organizations like Al- Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram, and Hezbollah. He urged Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede to heed both spiritual guidance and expert advice in preparing the Nigerian Army for the challenges ahead.
