GOODNEWS! ! Hamas Calls For End Of War Few Hours After Donald Trump’s Victory SEE Details
In comments given to Newsweek following former President Donald Trump’ s election victory, a top Hamas official has demanded an immediate stop to Israel’ s war against the organization in the Gaza Strip and a plan to establish Palestinian statehood.
” The Americans consider the election of Trump as the 47th president of the United States to be a private matter, ” Basem Naim, a spokesperson for the Hamas Political Bureau, told Newsweek, ” but Palestinians look forward to an immediate cessation of the aggression against our people, especially in Gaza, and look for assistance in achieving their legitimate rights like freedom, independence, and the establishment of their independent self- sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital. ”
He went on to say, ” The unquestioning support for the Zionist entity ‘ Israel’ and its fascist government must end immediately, at the expense of our people’ s future as well as the security and stability of the region. ”
Trump had a tight relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he was in office. Netanyahu is currently fighting the Iran- aligned Axis of Resistance on multiple fronts, which started with a massive onslaught on Israel in October 2023 spearheaded by Hamas. Trump has, however, also urged for an early conclusion to the war and criticized Netanyahu’ s leadership during the fight.
Newsweek spoke with an Israeli official who said that ” maintaining and building upon the special relationship between the U. S. and Israel has been a bipartisan feature of American politics since the founding of the Jewish state. ” According to the Israeli official, ” we have no doubt that this will continue to be the case, ” ” Going forward, we look forward to a strong working relationship with his administration to bring about a more peaceful, secure and prosperous Middle East. ”
A divisive foreign policy issue in the United States is the Israel- Hamas war, which has since spread to include an Israeli air and land offensive against the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon, strikes by other factions of the Axis of Resistance in Iraq, Syria, and Yemen, and even direct strikes between Israel and Iran.
