Ogun Couple Caught With Fresh Human Parts In Their House
Operatives from the Ogun State Police Command recently apprehended Kehinde Oladimeji, aged 43, and his wife, Adejumoke Raji, aged 35, on charges of possessing fresh human body parts. The couple, residents of 72 MKO Abiola Way in the Leme area of Abeokuta, were detained after law enforcement discovered multiple body parts, including hands and breasts, in their home.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Ogun State, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed these details in a statement issued on Saturday. Oyeyemi reported that the couple, who claimed to be herbalists, admitted they obtained the human parts from an individual identified as Michael, who reportedly lives in the Adatan area of Abeokuta.
The case was brought to the attention of the police by Moshood Ogunwolu, the Baale (traditional leader) of the Leme community. According to Oyeyemi, Ogunwolu was approached by Pastor Adisa Olarewaju, a neighbor of the suspects, who had complained of a foul odor emanating from their apartment. Concerned, Ogunwolu subsequently reported the situation to the Kemta Divisional Headquarters.
Following the complaint, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kemta Division, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, promptly led a team of detectives to investigate the scene. Upon searching the couple’ s apartment, the officers discovered a plastic container filled with various human body parts. The suspects were immediately taken into custody for further questioning.
During interrogation, the couple reiterated their claim of practicing herbal medicine, explaining that the body parts, which included hands and breasts, were given to them by the aforementioned Michael. However, all efforts by the police to locate this individual have so far been unsuccessful, as the suspects were unable to provide a precise address.
In a possibly related case, Oyeyemi mentioned that the dismembered body of an unidentified person was discovered approximately a week earlier in a swamp in the Leme area. Although it remains unclear if the body parts found in the couple’ s home are connected to this discovery, authorities are investigating any potential links.
The Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Homicide Section of the state’ s Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for a thorough investigation. He assured the public that all individuals connected to this crime, either directly or indirectly, would face justice to deter others from engaging in such gruesome acts.
