Israeli envoy reveals foreign country behind terror!sm in Nigeria
Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, has revealed that Iran is the root cause of global terrorism, citing its support for extremist groups in the Middle East and Africa.
Freeman made the claim during the screening of the documentary “We Will Dance Again” in Abuja, marking the first anniversary of the October 7 attacks.
Freeman explained that Iran’s backing of militant groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis has fueled instability in the Middle East.
He also pointed to Iran’s growing influence in Africa, including in Nigeria, where it has been linked to supporting terrorism.
He stressed that lasting peace in the Middle East and parts of Africa is unlikely unless there is a significant change in Iran’s leadership.
Freeman urged the international community to take immediate action to address Iran’s role in fostering terrorism.
The ambassador further highlighted the shared threat of terrorism between Israel and Nigeria, calling for global cooperation to combat extremism.
Freeman reassured that Israel is ready to assist any nation committed to fighting terrorism.
He stated: “The root of this war and the ongoing instability is Iran.
“Iran supports and funds groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, fueling unrest across the Middle East. Their strategy involves significant financial investment, technical expertise, and weaponry to destabilize the region.
“Iran’s influence is also extending into Africa, with attempts to disrupt West African stability, including actions in Nigeria.
“The sooner the world addresses Iran’s leadership and initiates change, the sooner global peace can be achieved.
“Terrorism in Israel doesn’t end there.
“We’ve observed radical terrorism here in Nigeria as well, similar to what we face in Israel. Terrorism knows no borders, and nations must collaborate, sharing expertise and resources to combat this common threat.
“Israel stands ready to assist any country committed to defeating terrorism.”
