UNBELIEVABLE! Bus Driver Goes Crazy, Attempts To Burn Himself Alive Alongside LASTMA Officer, See Why
A commercial bus driver, whose identity remains unknown, has allegedly immolated himself, his vehicle, and a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official. The driver was reportedly trying to avoid apprehension for a traffic violation. The incident occurred when the driver, in a desperate bid to escape arrest, set his bus ablaze, tragically engulfing himself and the nearby LASTMA officer in the inferno.
Olalekan Bakare- Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, confirmed the incident and stated that it occurred on Tuesday morning. He acknowledged that a commercial bus driver had allegedly set himself, his vehicle, and a LASTMA officer on fire in a shocking attempt to evade arrest for a traffic violation.
Bakare- Oki stated, ” the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has been made aware of a distressing video showing the driver of a Volkswagen T4 commercial bus, license plate LSD 355 CK, setting both his vehicle and LASTMA officers ablaze in a brazen attempt to evade arrest.
” This shocking incident happened on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, when the driver resisted arrest with extreme aggression by LASTMA officials. The vehicle had been intercepted for violating traffic regulations in the Cele inward Mile- 2 area” , he claimed.
During the arrest, the driver and conductor became violent, unleashing a fierce attack on the LASTMA personnel. They poured petrol on the officers and engaged in physical altercations, leading to a chaotic confrontation. One of the LASTMA officers suffered severe burns and was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention.
” LASTMA reiterates its unwavering commitment to preserving order and ensuring the safety of Lagos roads, as stipulated in the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018″ , he added.
In conclusion, he stressed the need for all drivers, including commercial and private ones, to strictly follow traffic regulations and show respect for the authority of LASTMA personnel, highlighting the importance of cooperation and compliance.
” LASTMA will not condone any form of violence or intimidation and will take firm and decisive action against those responsible” , Bakare- Oki vowed.
