IT’S HAPPENING! Tinubu To Sack SGF Akume? Tension Mounts As Jonathan’s Ex- Aide Makes Shocking Allegations
In a shocking claim, Jackson Ude, a former aide to ex- President Goodluck Jonathan and an independent journalist, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu has started a discreet plan to replace George Akume, the current Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). Ude made this claim in a post on X (formerly Twitter), which was later cited by LATEST_NEWS Blog.
Ude’ s post, titled ” TINUBU BEGINS MOVES TO REPLACE A ‘ BURUKUTU DRINKING’ SGF AKUME” , raised concerns about Akume’ s performance in office. According to Ude, a source within the government informed him that President Tinubu is displeased with Akume’ s handling of his role as SGF.
Ude claimed that Akume, who is a former Governor of Benue State, has been labeled by insiders as the ” worst SGF” in Nigeria’ s history, citing his inability to effectively coordinate government agencies and ensure smooth operation of parastatals.
The most alarming aspect of Ude’ s statement is the allegation that Akume’ s poor performance is connected to his high consumption of Burukutu, a locally brewed alcoholic drink popular among the Tiv people.
Ude claimed that Akume frequently arrives at the office under the influence of alcohol, which, according to sources, has negatively impacted his ability to carry out his duties. His alcohol consumption is also believed to be the reason for the frequent clashes between him and Hadiza Bala Usman, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination and Head of the Central Delivery Coordination Unit.
Hadiza Bala Usman, Ude noted, has reportedly taken on additional responsibilities, often performing tasks expected of the SGF. This situation has further highlighted Akume’ s alleged inefficiency in fulfilling his official duties.
As of now, there has been no official response from President Tinubu’ s administration regarding these allegations or Ude’ s claims. The report has raised eyebrows, especially given the significance of the SGF’ s role in coordinating the activities of ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in the Nigerian government.
