The primary suspect, 22- year- old Tasiu Danlami, sustained severe burns during the act. Authorities quickly responded and transported him to Musa Yar’ Adua Hospital in Sabon- Wuse for medical treatment. His accomplice, 18- year- old Abba Salihu, was apprehended by police at the scene.
The Niger State Police Command, through its spokesperson SP Wasiu Abiodun, reported that both suspects were caught in the act during a routine patrol carried out by local police officers in collaboration with community vigilantes. This proactive approach is part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and combat rising criminal activities in the region. Following the initial arrests, the police expanded their operation, detaining six additional suspects linked to various criminal activities, including thuggery, public disturbance, and robbery. Among those detained were Musa Umar (50), identified as a purported youth leader from Kulogbe; Sirajo Isyaku (20); Yusuf Ahmed (18) from Kutirko; Bashir Yahaya (20); Shuaibu Mohammed (38) from Fadikpe; and Usman Adamu (21) from Sabon- Titi.
