In a shocking confession, a 26- year- old man named Franklin Akinyosuyi has revealed why he bathed daily with a human skull. Akinyosuyi, suspected to be involved in ritualistic practices, claimed that he purchased the human skull and other body parts from an herbalist in Osun State, hoping to enhance his struggling business.
Akinyosuyi, paraded alongside other suspects by the Ondo State police command, explained in an interview that his photography and boutique business had been facing severe challenges. Desperate for a solution, he turned to a herbalist, who convinced him that using a human head in a ritual would provide the needed breakthrough.
According to Akinyosuyi, the ordeal began when his uncle introduced him to the herbalist, who promised to turn his fortunes around. ” I am a photographer, and I also run a boutique. Last year, my business was not doing well, and I was finding it hard to make ends meet, ” he said. ” My uncle took me to this herbalist, and after explaining my situation, he told me that I needed to pay N200, 000 for a special concoction. ”
The herbalist’ s ” solution” involved a ritual that required Akinyosuyi to bathe with a human skull every Thursday at exactly 1 a. m. ” He called me in November of last year to pick up the concoction, and that’ s when he gave me the human skull. He told me I had to bathe with it weekly to boost my business, ” Akinyosuyi added.
For an entire month, the young man followed the instructions, performing the ritual in the hope that it would bring him wealth and success. However, to his dismay, nothing changed. ” I didn’ t see any improvement in my business after using the skull for a month, so I called the herbalist and demanded a refund, ” Akinyosuyi confessed. ” I also asked him to come and take back the human head, but he refused. He only refunded N20, 000 out of the N200, 000 I paid. ”
Frustrated and determined to rid himself of the skull, Akinyosuyi decided to dispose of it. He left the human skull in his backyard, intending to throw it away later. Unfortunately, before he could do so, his landlord’ s children stumbled upon the skull, raising an alarm. ” The children saw the skull and informed their father, who then called the police, ” he explained.
The police quickly responded, arresting Akinyosuyi and launching an investigation. During interrogation, the suspect revealed the details of how he acquired the skull and implicated the herbalist. Further investigations by the Ondo State police led to the arrest of several individuals involved in the case, including an evangelist named Oyegoke Dare, who was said to have provided Akinyosuyi with the skull and other ritualistic items.
The spokesperson for the police, Funmi Odunlami, provided additional details about the arrests. ” A human skull was found in Akinyosuyi’ s possession, and upon further investigation, one Oyegoke Dare, an evangelist, was also arrested for his role in the crime. He was the one who supplied the fetish materials, ” she stated.
Odunlami also mentioned that the investigation uncovered the involvement of another individual, Oyelade Sarafa, an herbalist who confessed to helping procure the skull from a vigilante named Asekun in Ikirun, Osun State. ” Both Sarafa and Asekun have been arrested, while two other suspects connected to the case are still at large, ” the police spokesperson added.

Ritualistic practices, often associated with attempts to acquire wealth or power, remain a persistent issue in some parts of Nigeria.
