SEE What Nigerian Soldiers Did To Bandits Attempting To Pick Up 1. 5 Million Ransom In Kaduna
In a significant operation in Mai- Iddo village, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, military forces engaged and killed two bandits who were attempting to collect a ransom of N1. 5 million for four individuals they had abducted. These captives, which included three women and a child, had been taken from a farm the previous week but were successfully rescued by the troops during this confrontation.
A local community leader provided insights into the events when speaking to reporters via phone on Tuesday. He explained that the two bandits were killed after their leader directed them to a specific location where a relative of the abducted individuals was expected to deliver the ransom money. The arrangements had been made in collaboration with military personnel, who were informed about the ransom drop- off by the person assigned to deliver it, along with the involvement of a local vigilante for extra safety.
Upon reaching the agreed- upon site, the soldiers took strategic positions to ensure they could monitor the situation without being detected. As the two bandits approached to retrieve the ransom, the troops initiated their assault, swiftly opening fire and killing both bandits on the spot. This decisive action not only eliminated the immediate threat but also led to the rescue of the kidnapped victims, who were later reunited with their families, bringing a sense of relief to the community.
