DEAD Body Of District Leader Found Inside Bush Days After He Was Abducted; SEE Details
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in Kebbi State has reported the tragic death of Isah Daya, the abducted District Head of Kanya, who was killed by suspected bandits. Daya was kidnapped along with eight others on October 6 in Kanya District, located in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.
In a statement released to the media in Birnin Kebbi, Police Spokesperson SP Nafi’ u Abubakar confirmed the grim news. He noted that, following actionable intelligence and the combined efforts of police, military personnel, and local vigilantes, eight of the abducted individuals were successfully rescued during operations.
The rescue took place on Tuesday around 10: 00 a. m. in the Sakaba forest, where a confrontation with the kidnappers ensued. Fortunately, the rescued victims emerged unscathed and have since been reunited with their families after receiving medical care at the General Hospital in Sakaba.
Tragically, while the rescue operations were ongoing, authorities discovered the lifeless body of Isah Daya in the forest. The Commissioner of Police for Kebbi State, Alhaji Bello Sani, expressed his condolences to the state government, the Zuru Emirate, and Daya’ s family and supporters. He prayed for Daya’ s forgiveness and eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus.
The Police Public Relations Officer also urged community members to assist law enforcement by providing any pertinent information that could lead to the capture of those responsible for this heinous crime.
