BIGGER TROUBLE! Bobrisky 10Million Bribery Allegation Takes Deeper Turn As Falana Receives Death Threat Over Decision To Sue VeryDarkMan
Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and prominent human rights lawyer, has revealed that he has been receiving serious threats following his decision to initiate legal action against activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan. The case stems from allegations made by VeryDarkMan, which were widely circulated after he shared an audio recording involving the controversial figure Bobrisky, a well- known Nigerian crossdresser.
In the purported audio, Bobrisky claimed that during her imprisonment for naira abuse, she was contacted by both Falana and his son, the popular rapper Falz. According to Bobrisky, the two had reached out to her while she was serving a six- month sentence, allegedly attempting to arrange a presidential pardon in exchange for a payment of N10 million. The activist, VeryDarkMan, has since stated that these allegations have diminished his respect for Falana, and he expressed disappointment over the lawyer’ s supposed involvement in the matter.
However, Bobrisky has since come forward to deny the authenticity of the recording. She has also threatened to take legal action against VeryDarkMan for defamation, insisting that the recording is false and misleading. In a similar move, Falana and his son Falz have issued a public statement denying the claims and threatening legal action against the activist if he does not retract his statements and offer a formal apology.
During an interview with *Sahara Reporters* on Monday, Falana expressed concern about the escalating situation, particularly the threats he has received in connection with the case. According to him, some individuals have sent threatening messages, including warnings to burn his office and harm his family if he pursues the lawsuit.
Falana, who has categorically denied ever meeting Bobrisky, described the threats as ” deeply disturbing” and said that they are aimed not only at him but also at one of his daughters. ” The most concerning part of this is the threat to one of my daughters, ” Falana explained. ” These individuals, who I suspect are mentally unstable, have sent messages warning that they will burn my office if I proceed to court. They’ ve also threatened my daughter, saying they will kill her if I take legal action. ”
Despite the gravity of the threats, Falana assured his family and supporters that he remains undeterred. ” I laughed when I saw these threats, and I told my daughter not to worry. I have already taken steps to address the situation legally. It is important that we make it clear that such intimidation tactics won’ t succeed. We must show them that we are committed to upholding the rule of law, ” he stated firmly.
Falana’ s stance on the matter highlights his dedication to confronting both the legal and personal challenges arising from the situation, reinforcing his reputation as one of Nigeria’ s most respected legal figures.
