A tragic event in Coleen Bawn, Zimbabwe, has led to the death of a man named Mlamuleli Mangena following a violent dispute that erupted over a romantic rivalry. This incident has sparked a serious investigation by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), who have arrested three individuals linked to the fatal attack, while a manhunt is ongoing for three other suspects involved in the assault.
The incident occurred on October 3, 2024, at the Forest H60 Mine, where Mangena found himself at the center of a heated confrontation over a girlfriend. According to police reports, the argument quickly escalated, resulting in Mangena being attacked with a sharp object by a group of six individuals.
The police have confirmed that the suspects identified so far are Trinity, Benito, and Mashelly, alongside three other unnamed accomplices who are still on the run. During the assault, Mangena suffered severe head injuries after being struck with an unidentified sharp weapon, leading to his untimely death.
The violence did not end with Mangena’ s death; another victim, Tinashe Chirenje, aged 30, was also brutally attacked during the same altercation. Chirenje sustained critical injuries after being assaulted with a machete and an axe. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition, fighting for his life. The severity of Chirenje’ s injuries has added to the gravity of the incident, underscoring the brutality of the attack and its impact on the local community.
