A major conference of Muslim monarchs, clerics, and scholars from across Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta will take place in Ijebu- Ode, Ogun State, from October 7th to 9th.
Among the distinguished guests expected are President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona. Speaking with journalists in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, Sheik Taofeek Akewugbagold, Head of the Media Committee for the conference, explained that the event will serve as a platform for Islamic leaders and stakeholders to address critical issues affecting both the Muslim community and Nigeria as a whole.
The conference will focus on fostering dialogue and cooperation in an effort to tackle the country’ s pressing challenges. Akewugbagold highlighted the significance of the expected attendance of prominent figures such as President Tinubu, Obasanjo, and the Awujale of Ijebuland.
He stressed that their presence symbolizes unity and collaboration, offering hope to Nigerians in a time of need. ” Their involvement reflects the importance of interfaith dialogue in resolving Nigeria’ s challenges, ” he stated.
One of the key objectives of the conference is to bridge the gap between Muslim monarchs, scholars, and clerics, especially those in the Southwest. Akewugbagold added that the discussions would address various crises within and among Islamic sects, with the goal of finding solutions to longstanding differences.

The Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Imam Yunus Ayilara, also shared his views on the upcoming conference.
