Benue Community On FIRE As Herdsmen Attack Residents- See Number Of People They Killed [VIDEO]
In Benue State, two individuals have reportedly been killed in a brutal attack by suspected herdsmen. The incident took place on Thursday, October 3, 2024, and has left the local community in deep sorrow. Eyewitness reports confirm that the victims of the attack were two men, Terwsse Azege and Orseer Kende, who were murdered in Tse Wende, a small village in Adam, which is part of the larger Turan community in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
The attack has been attributed to suspected armed herdsmen, a group that has been causing ongoing concern and unrest in the region. According to local sources, the victims were going about their daily activities when they were ambushed and killed.
This is not the first time the area has been targeted by violent herdsmen attacks, which have resulted in numerous casualties and heightened tensions in the region. The issue of herdsmen violence has plagued many parts of Nigeria, particularly in rural areas like Benue, where farming communities often find themselves in conflict with nomadic herdsmen over land use.
A member of the affected community, Fabian Tersee, expressed his frustration and sorrow over the continuous attacks by armed herders in the area. In his statement, Tersee lamented the ongoing violence, saying, ” We have not rested over the issue of armed herders.
We only chose not to give them media coverage. But for how long are we going to endure this killing epidemic? ” He went on to confirm the deaths of the two victims, adding, ” Just yesterday in my village, they struck and killed Terwsse Azege and Orseer Kende. This happened at Tse Wende in Adam village, a sub of Turan. Rest in peace, brothers. ”
The deaths of Terwsse Azege and Orseer Kende serve as a grim reminder of the ongoing crisis faced by many rural communities in Nigeria. As the herdsmen attacks persist, there is an urgent need for lasting solutions to address the root causes of the conflict and to ensure the safety and security of these vulnerable populations.
